As Robert E. Lee's personal photographer, Michael Miley spent a
good deal of time in Lexington. He took this picture of the Liberty
Hall ruins circa 1890. From the artifacts recovered near the ruins,
we know the site received many visitors including Federal and Confederate
Civil War troops and cadets from Virginia Military Institute. |
